NBBJ Shanghai is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Operations Leader. This position is multifaceted, 40 - 50% involves responsibility for the operational success of the studio, both tactically and strategically to include responsibility for operational issues such as project financial success, studio financial success, human resource issues, recruiting, compensation and staffing. About 50 to 60% would also include direct project management responsibilities on select projects involving client contact and project team leadership on large-scale corporate headquarter and commercial mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities:

? Assist with recruiting, team building and mentoring for the studio.
? Work to ensure strong communication between the design studio, human resources, finance and other departments within NBBJ.
? Provide mentorship, guidance and support to project teams with a focus on project planning, staff deployment and fiscal accountability and responsibility.
? Manage project based design teams - plan, organize, and supervise the work of a project team of approximately 5 to 10 individuals.
? Successfully lead client facing efforts such as user group meetings and contract negotiations
? Facilitate the overall design process for projects with a scope ranging from programming and planning through Construction Administration.
? Work with Project Architect to ensure accuracy and applicability of documents for entire project(s).
? Build and maintain day-to-day working relationships with clients and consultants
? Correspondence, reports, documentation, and general administration for projects.
? Apply sound and diversified knowledge of architectural principals for all aspects of the projects.
? Assist with proposal preparation and participate in client presentations/interviews.
? Support business development and collaboration with other studios working in mainland China, as needed

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

? Minimum of 15+ years of professional design experience in China as well as abroad.
? Bachelor of Architecture degree; Master of Architecture preferred.
? Architectural licensure desired; LEED Accreditation a plus.
? Prior experience in an operational capacity within an architectural, interior or landscape firm required
? Proven leadership capability from one-on-one mentoring, to project teams
? Ability to lead and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
? Project management and client communication experience is essential in order to provide strong leadership within a multi-disciplinary and geographic diverse teams.
? Additional requirements include graphic representation, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign and other design related computer skills.
? Project experience and demonstrated knowledge of Chinese planning/design/construction regulations is required.
? Familiarity with current LEAN processes and BIM coordination.
? Proven track record as a Project Manager on large scale projects from Pre-design through Construction Administration, including contract negotiation, work plan development and the ability to work with a variety of project delivery methodologies.
? Excellent leadership, verbal and bi-lingual communication skills, and effective client relationship skills and talent for leading and working with diverse teams.
