Job Title: R&D Mechanical Design Engineer
Reports to: R&D Mechanical Design Lead

Job description
The mechanical design engineer is responsible for developing components and sub systems of the new electromechanical disc brake, as of the scope of Haldex-Vie strategy. The responsibility also includes to take part in developing systems, processes and procedures for efficient design work within the team. The responsibility also includes to represent product development and to collaborate with business development in order to generate new business. The responsibility also includes to prepare and communicate technical system proposals with customers and to follow up on the same.

The mechanical design engineer is responsible for:
1）Conduct research on state of art technology and create design proposals for the product.
2）Design, model, and initiate tests on prototypes.
3）Create product concepts, based on performance requirements and production criteria’s.
4）Identify and select materials needed, for compliance with requirements and for a cost effective product.
5）Produce drawings and specifications.
6）Create Bill of materials.
7）Execute the mechanical development plan according to APQP and (H)PMM Development Process.
8）To develop systems, processes and procedures for efficient design work.
9）Supporting the design verification and validation of the new product.
10）Technical benchmarking of competitor’s products and solutions.
11）Prepare and communicate technical system proposals with customers and to follow up on the same.
12）Supporting in 8D problem solving if any warranty claims arises.
The mechanical design engineer may be assigned to:
1）Lead new product development sub project(s)
Interfaces within organization
1）Report and escalate proactively to Project manager and/or Mechanical design lead
Interface with suppliers and customer organization
1）Act as the voice of company towards the suppliers and customer
2）Meet customer expectations and works for successful business implementation

1）Product knowledge
？Applies a detailed level of product knowledge and experience to enable customer credibility and to be able to propose solutions for the design in the new product
？Applies a high level of vehicle system knowledge to understand customers need in features and performance in the new product
？Applies a high level of product testing knowledge to ensure product verification and validation process will be thorough and complete
2）Champions transparency and compliance to TS16949, APQP, HPMM and yearly budget process
？Documents and reports the work

Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
1）Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
2）Product development in mechanics and/or electro mechanics in automotive segment
3）Experience in business development and manufacturing (automotive preferred) 举报 分享
