Key Responsibilities.
? To be Responsible for all non-FR Fabric development and sourcing including China and Asia.
? To work closely with apparel management team to strategically plan and carry out suitable sourcing strategies
? To partner with cross-functional team leaders and lead the Asian operations team to develop new products which meets the target cost structure and department growth targets and design intents
? To source for suitable fabric mills, within Asia that are in compliance with the global sourcing strategy
? To work with fabric mills/ trim suppliers to ensure accurate and updated mills profiles for matrix.
? To Proactively identify any potential mill or development issues to ensure a smooth transition to bulk.
? To be aware of import restrictions by item and by country
? To closely monitor and execute critical paths to ensure deadlines to development, sampling and bulk process are achieved within required timeframe
? To work closely with technical design team in the US on project development
? To accompany and assists fabric, design, and merchandising teams on development. and mill visits
? To Provide market information and new non-FR product from mills.
? To trouble-shoot manufacturing process in all developing stages
? To manage second (back up) sourcing activities according to sourcing strategy
? To report to the Fabric Director in a timely basis in terms of all development process and data.
Key Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree in +textileel production or equivalent work experience
? 15 years’ experience in textiles business and majority in sourcing company
? Proven problem solving abilities
? Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills with previous experience in supervising and developing direct reports
? Ability to multitask
? Strong negotiation skills
? Experience in working with global partners is required; overseas/ factory exposure in Asia preferred.
? In-depth knowledge and understanding of the technical skills in textiles
? Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business requires
? Detailed understanding of product cost engineering
? Highly proficient in MS office with strong PLM experience
? Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels
? Fluency in Mandarin and English
? Team player who takes initiative and work more aggressive to sub-ordinates and other department such as merchandising team and TD dept.
? High level of attention to details and accuracy
