This position is for an engine performance analyst supporting the development of engine ratings and performance. This person is responsible for analyzing data for engine testing being completed at CRDC, which provides engine-testing services to Caterpillar and other OEM's.
The key role of this position is to develop engine control calibrations for legacy, current, and future Caterpillar product. The candidate will perform engine simulation to ensure data quality and predict trends without testing. This person will work closely with the customer to ensure that test deliverables are understood and documented properly which ensures that the proper test equipment (including test cell and instrumentation) is planned for use during the duration of the project. The individual is expected to work with test cell operators to provide a clear test plan on a daily basis to guide the project.

This person is responsible for reviewing the data that is generated by the cell operator. The individual is responsible to check the quality of the data channels, analyze and graph the data in a meaningful fashion, and interpret the test results in order to make decisions for the next round of testing.
At the conclusion of a set of successful tests that accomplish the customer deliverables, this individual is responsible for documenting final engine control calibrations and the associated performance and emissions characteristics of the engine. The individual will then be responsible for communicating all results to the customer.
Qualifications

BS or MS in Engineering with at least 3 years of experience. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and problem solving skills. In addition, the person should have strong interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Experience in engine performance development and general product developments desired.
