The NYU Shanghai Student Fitness Center is available for all students studying at NYU Shanghai. The Center is located in the B1 level of the NYU Shanghai Academic Building and has the latest equipment from Life Fitness, including treadmills, cross trainers, a concept rower, upright and cycling bikes, strength machines, and free weights. Fitness Center Interns assist with the operation of the Center and develop fitness programs and events, resources and services to help students improve their workout experience and achieve their fitness goals.

Responsibilities
Facility Operations
- Work the fitness center front desk for client check-in and towel service
- Keep fitness center clean, safe, and organized
- Make sure equipment functions and materials are filled
- Communicate between Athletics staff and student workers
- Implement programs, resources and services that create a fun and educational fitness experience

Fitness Classes
- Assist with creating and facilitating fitness center classes related to:
- Introduction to fitness / equipment demonstrations
- Safety in the Fitness Center
- Proper form and technique
- Flexibility, cardio, strength and conditioning

Individual Fitness Evaluation
- Maintain and analyze data on students using the Fitness Center/participating in sports teams/clubs
- Track progression for students throughout the year (resting heart rate, strength, weight loss goals)

Special Events
- Prepare and deliver fitness educational programs
- Contribute to the marketing of all fitness and wellness programs and services through website promotions, newsletter articles, table events, social media, etc.


Qualification
Required Education / Certification
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred in sports related field or similar
- Current CPR certification, First Aid, and fitness training certification

Required Experience
- Experience with administrative and sports management preferred
- Experience studying and working in a multicultural environment is preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
- Excellent ability to pay attention to detail
- Must possess good organizational skills and be efficient in multitasking
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team
- Ability to work in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment
- Have great interest in fitness and sports

Working Time
- At least 3 days a week, long-term internship preferred
- Flexible working schedule; some evenings and weekends may be required 举报 分享
