Responsibilities:
The Firmware Engineer, as a member of the RAE Systems, Inc. REC Firmware Group will be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of embedded applications for products used in rapidly deployable chemical and radiation detection monitors and multi-sensor networks for homeland security and industrial applications.
? Architect, design and implement embedded software, using C, assembly and embedded RTOS.
? In collaboration with hardware engineers write low-level test applications to assist in debugging hardware designs.
? Test, document and support the developed applications
? In association with co-development partners design, review and implement new product applications.
? Share responsibility for both new product and product improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
BS in an Engineering field (ME/EE/CS)
1. at least 5 years engineering experience
2. Fluent in embedded C programming on 8/16/32 microcontrollers (PIC, MSP430, ARM), using RTOS environments.
3. Experience in low-level and device driver programming.

Desired:

1. Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
2. Experience working with international/overseas based teams.
3. Familiarity with project management.
4. Excellent analytic, verbal and written communication skills.
5. Familiar with Industry Control technologies.
6. Familiar with CVS/Subversion
