职位描述：
Key Responsibilities:

1. Taking responsibility for the co-ordination of modules.
2. Collaborate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of academic programmes.
3. Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, lecture notes tutorials and any other materials needed.
4. Delivering lectures, tutorials and information technology practice sessions.
5. If appropriate, conducting laboratory practical sessions.
6. Use teaching and learning materials that are suitable for differentiation in student ability.
7. The regular updating of student information systems (for example Blackboard).
8. Providing feedback, guidance and encouragement to students and undertake student tutoring and support.
9. Liaison with support staff (tutors) regarding the progress of individual students.
10. Submit of marking schemes for moderation.
11. Participate in moderation meetings. Marking scripts.
12. Submission of marks and attendance records.
13. Submission of sample materials for quality audit.
14. Evaluation of student feedback.
15. Participation in course committee meetings, academic board meetings, and subcommittees.
16. Liaise with subject librarians, central timetabling and other services to ensure resources available are appropriately deployed.
17. Seek opportunities to operate across disciplinary boundaries and to facilitate collaborations within and outside the Department.
18. Writing Student References, for example UCAS.
19. Travelling (if required) within China and internationally.
20. Assist in student recruitment activities, including interviews, open days and external recruitment events.
21. Participate in the staff appraisal scheme.
22. On occasions may be required to work at night and at weekends when the institution has a specific need.
23. In addition to the above, undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

Professional / Tertiary Qualifications:

1. A postgraduate qualification directly relevant to the present and future needs of the department and the present post is considered essential. For example in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computing or a closely related subject discipline.
2. A Ph.D. is preferred however a Masters is acceptable.
3. In addition to postgraduate qualifications, other qualifications, experience and skills will be taken into consideration.
4. A recognised teaching qualification in ternary education is desirable particularly if it has an international content.
5. Research activity is strongly encouraged particularly in areas where the college intends to advance. Collaboration with USST Shanghai and with our partner universities is most welcome.
6. On rare occasions an exception may be made for applicants with special technical qualifications or experience desired by the department.

1. Direct experience of further and higher education in an international context; in particular teaching non-native speakers of English.
2. Experience of the development of academic programmes.
3. Experience of academic assessment and standards and of quality assurance procedures.
4. An understanding of how students learn and how they apply strategic skills to the learning process in higher education.

The Sino-British College (SBC) is an international university college, jointly established by the University of Shanghai for Science & Technology (USST), and 9 leading British Universities: The University of Bradford, The University of Huddersfield, The University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moores University, Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of Salford, The University of Sheffield, and Sheffield Hallam University.
 
SBC became a fully licensed university college on September 1st, 2006. It is the only Shanghai-based higher education institution to be awarded a license by the Chinese Ministry of Education to offer full degree programmes taught entirely in English to multiple overseas universities (the so-called "1 to N Consortium Model"), either taught entirely at the Shanghai campus, or with a period of study abroad. Graduates are awarded degrees from one of the partner British institutions.
 
SBC is based in a beautiful historic campus in the heart of the city of Shanghai. Currently, it has about 2,000 full-time undergraduate students and about 150 international students from 42 countries and regions. Degree programmes are taught entirely in the English language across the whole spectrum of Business and Engineering by a highly qualified academic team comprising about 80 international staff from 20 different countries plus over 100 bilingual administrative staff many of whom have studied for international degrees.
