We have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to provide accurate and efficient processing of finance and business related tasks for the China Region in our Shanghai office.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the performance of the Sales Region, where you will show your inherent initiative and curiosity to uncover and deliver new insights and stories from our rich and deep data sets.
You will have a high level of expertise in financial analysis, manipulation of large complex data sets and interpretation, together with a sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the desire to be part of a dynamic high performance team where exceeding expectations is expected.
You may already have your CPA (preferred) but are keen to take the next step in a commercial environment. Alternatively it would suit someone who is currently a Senior Accountant or Senior Financial Analyst with strong business partnership experience and proven commercial acumen looking for a new role.
To be successful in this role you will be fluent in English and B.A degree qualified in Accounting or related field with at least six years commercial and analytical postgraduate experience. You will be an advanced user of Excel. The ability to develop strong relationships and to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the globe is also a key part of this role as you will be working closely with HQ in New Zealand along with other Finance colleagues based around the world. For those able to work globally, opportunities abound within the Finance division.
NOTE: Local employment terms and conditions apply with a competitive remuneration offering. You must hold legal entitlement to work in China (be a Chinese Passport Holder) and be fluent in Mandarin and English (both written and verbal).
Role Purpose:
Contribute to the performance of the Greater China Region through the provision of accurate and efficient processing of finance and business related tasks that comply with all legislative and Air NZ policies and procedures. And provide sound commercial advice, analytical support while delivering a strong financial control environment
Key Outputs:
Financial & Commercial Advice
? Complete day to day financial accounting activities within and cross the departments
? Provide financial advice so that integrity of Air NZ systems is maintained
? Maintain Fixed Assets register, perform physical count regularly requirements
? Ensure month end timetable is adhered to and quality information is produced
? Prepare and maintain a complete documented set of all financial and reporting processes and disciplines
? Be an advocate for the business area’s supported. Assist with statutory and corporate governance requirements for Air NZ in the PRC including tax , statistical returns and all legislative and regulatory requirements
? Maintain the relationships with contacts including tax bureau, SAFE, bank etc.
? Assist on projects that will provide profitability improvements and offer value added propositions like China Pay, AliPay and POS
? Provide recommendations to senior management relating to all opportunities of how the business can increase revenue or reduce costs
Business Analysis and reporting
? Dashboard preparation about monthly, YTD result for China region. Ensure that reporting and analysis is consistent with Group-wide standards and statutory requirement
? Provide quality processes to track, analyse and report on key business drivers.
? Assist with the planning, preparation, reporting, analysis and interpretation of all financial results (budgets, forecast and actuals), including variances to budget and forecast for cost of sales and operating expenditure
? Undertake revenue forecast analysis and provide projections to the Finance Manager
? Communicate and educate understanding and transparency of key business drivers. Air NZ financial system knowledge update like Essbase, People Soft, PRA, and Microstrategy.
? Internal and external audit management about China entities
? Continually improve and refine reporting processes to providing quality relevant information
Leadership & self-development
? Develop a high performance culture which drives improved business performance
? Guide and coach team member understand Air NZ system and improve their professional skills
? Development plan objectives are achieved
? Be a role model of the Air NZ Brand Characteristics
? Be proactive with managing deliverables necessary to support the management team

? Accurate handling and filing of all finance related documents
