Our client is a leading Global Retailer of babies, toddler & kids apparel. This role is to support the Merchandising Manager in ensuring that the global purchasing process and policy is adhered to for a set of product lines. To deliver the best average buying price to the company whilst also ensuring that orders and deliveries are on time and to the necessary quality. Lead production planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Merchandising Manager in applying and operating the purchasing processes to secure supply of all products at the best average buying price achievable
Provide data analysis and support to commercial negotiations and to follow up on outstanding actions
Track and monitor supplier performance to ensure that the company receives consistently high levels of service and identify opportunities for improvement and commercial advantage
Track and monitor franchise partners in their location to assist the Purchasing Manager understand their needs and requirements to deliver sales plans
Lead production planning to ensure that local capacity plans and requirements are sufficient to deliver the sourcing strategy
Key in purchase orders to meet production schedule timelines
Quality assuring production plans to meet order schedules
Update the planning/ ordering system (Phoenix) with production schedules
Assist the supplier in the production and maintenance of viable production plans
Undertake fabric booking with suppliers
Develop and maintaining operational routings and manufacturing work instructions
Support resolution of production, manufacturing and supply issues
Follow up sealing process critical path actions
Confirm colour approval
Support the Shipping Co­ordinators to ensure that production and shipments are on time
Analyse the performance and quality data from the supplier base to ensure that the company receives consistently high levels of service
Support the Product Development teams to help deliver product vision and strategy maintaining company Hand writing themes and stories
Identify new opportunities and trends to drive innovation, lower costs and increase profit
Learn the role of the Purchasing Manager to provide bench strength for subsequent career development
To support the tracking and monitoring of key performance indicators of the Purchasing team against agreed plans and strategies and work with the Purchasing Manager to develop and implement corrective actions for local area when necessary
This role directly reports to the Purchasing Manager
Agree personal performance targets with Purchasing Manager
Identifying personal development needs

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

At least 5 years relevant experience, preferable in baby & kids wear
Data analysis and interrogation
Production planning and scheduling
Understanding of sourcing policies and procedures and associated systems
Negotiation and commercial acumen
Manufacturing experience
Logistics and shipping expertise
Reporting and data analysis.
Occasion travel within region is required
Experience within an international buying office
