Why this job exists
To drive and enhance public relations activities for Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, achieving PR exposure, managing media relations and growing and developing a loyal media base on behalf of the group throughout China.
This role is concerned with creating and maintaining a high profile and positive image for Anantara in China and ensuring customer preference for the brand by effectively communicating to media and industry partners.
THE SCOPE OF THE ROLE
The scope of this role includes the following:
· Primary focus: Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas (Chinese based properties and Anantara spas, international properties and Anantara brand image)
· Secondary focus: MHG multi-brand coordination and development of brand Public Relations activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an overarching communications strategy for Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas (China and international).
- Establish and manage and annual budget to ensure brand awareness in China.
- Development promotional campaigns (awareness, teaser campaigns) and material that build awareness for the brand, and help grow existing customers across key markets (domestic and outbound)
- Write interesting and effective press releases; prepare information for media kits and brochures in Chinese.
- Develop and maintain the company's corporate image and identity.
- Manage special events such as sponsorship, launch parties introducing new properties, or other activities the firm supports in order to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly.
- Assign, supervise and review the activities of Public Relations or Marketing Associates based on properties throughout China.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local media.
- Maintain strong presence in social media via Weibo and other means throughout China.
- Maintain accurate analysis and tracking on PR campaign performance, business results and associated action planning
- Conduct market research on competitor hotel brands within the industry that is seen as relevant and delivering competitive advantage to the brand, in that the research is valued and eagerly awaited by the corporate and operational leadership teams.
- Oversee the execution of branded collateral – recommend new collateral and updates to existing collateral as appropriate
- Photography – identify and evaluate all photographers. Negotiate fees and agree project scope. Supervision of on resort photography when required
- Provide support for website design and content management
- Work with in-house team members and outside strategic partners to develop, implement and manage external marketing and partnership marketing opportunities to broaden exposure of the brand.
Requirements

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects with changing priorities
- Experience in developing and executing corporate PR campaigns programs
- Solid expertise in creating and implementing media outreach and response strategies for both offline and online media
