In the role as Category Analyst you will lead or support short term business projects within Purchasing. You will work together with Category Managers, Business Development Managers and new business teams. The Category Analyst is an important contributor in business and performance improvement in the category dimension and active in areas like cost reductions, product quality, sustainability and availability.

In this role you are part of the global purchase development that are based at IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult, Sweden. However, the projects that you are involved in are mainly based locally.

Assignment:

Across the full scope of IKEA Purchase development:
- Lead and/or contribute to short term projects related to development and/or implementation of the Category Plan.
- Lead and/or contribute in competitive biddings and facilitate negotiations where needed.
- Support New business organisation by leading market studies, supplier mapping, data collection and analysis, and further identify new business opportunities.
- Support with expertise in data collection, analysis, process orientation and project management.
- Contribute with fact based business leadership by building foundation and pre-condition for fact based decisions including recommendations, risk analysis and scenario planning.
- Capture synergies across categories and share knowledge and good practices throughout the organisation.

To be a successful Category Analyst we would like you to have 3-5 years of experience in related field of work with proven track record of high performance. You have a university degree in business, industry or engineering field (e.g. production, construction or materials) or corresponding knowledge. You have good understanding of Supply Chain management and experience of working with systematic business improvement methodology and project management.

As a person you are highly motivated, decisive, analytical and have a strong business drive. You have leadership skills and the ability to efficiently solve both operational and strategic business related questions. You are a good communicator and strong in creating structure and in building trustful relationships.
