Position:

Purchasing Manager

Main purpose:

Responsible for set up and execute competitive procurement processes for all relevant purchasing categories with a bottom line perspective for the business

Role:

By a deep understanding of the business needs and how different purchasing items and a categories affect the bottom line lead and develop the purchasing organisation for optimizing a total cost of ownership for the business

Key responsibilities:

- Set up the overall strategic procurement model

- Implement processes for different procurement categories

- Continuously scan and develop the supplier base

- Tender processes and negotiations

- Purchasing contracts

- Risk management (credit, supply, etc)

Accountable for:

- Create an meet budget

- Fforecasting likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximize business efficiency;

- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality;

- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities;

- Producing reports and statistics

- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors;

- Training and supervising the work of other members of staff
