Functional: * Support new and existing customers with application and product knowledge on independent moving cart technology and machine design * Have the ability to quickly learn and articulate the features and benefits of new products and solutions, and use this information in developing new customer opportunities for our business. * Assist appropriate channels for business in contacting customers at appropriate management levels in the pursuit of independent cart technology business and maintaining existing customer base. * Review customer specifications and drawings, size and select appropriate products and solutions for customer applications and support the quotation process. * Have a good understanding of industry specific applications, engineering principles and how to apply them. * Develop an understanding of the customer’s environment and our ability to provide solutions. * Develop written engineering and application guidelines for systems and solutions with respect to customer specific applications * Handle communications when appropriate on quotations, specifications, potential orders and occasional post-sales issues between Engineering, Sales, Distributors, and Customers. * Give input on customer/industry technical requirements for new product development processes. * Establish specifications from a customer’s broad description of the machine operation or the customer process. * Ability to Travel up to 60% of the time throughout the region as necessary to support the customer base. * Represent the Business Unit and support marketing activities during internal and external meetings/shows/events in the region when appropriate. Interpersonal: * Written and Verbal Fluency in English and preferably one other language. * Displays dedication and concern toward completing work correctly, thoroughly and in an appropriately timely manner. * Is very open with management and peers, and is conscious of keeping others up to date on status of work and developments with opportunities. * Communications with project teams to ensure that they have all of the information required to successfully implement projects. * Interface and provide direct input with other RA product groups such that the corporate marketing goals are united. * Actively suggest products, sales and service procedural improvements. * Interface appropriately with vendors to ensure the requirements of the order execution are satisfied in a physically responsible manner. ? Business: * Understands the nature of the specific industry served and the available market. * Keeps a whole company perspective in mind relative to independent cart technology opportunities. * Holds the customer’s interest as first priority. * Has a good working knowledge of RA’s business and products. * Establishes a good network of contacts within the industry as well as within the entire RA organization. * Uses these contacts to facilitate business opportunities effectively and appropriately. * Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other appropriate departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved. * Provide input for developing marketing/sales aids, advertisements and brochures. * Openly suggest improvements in internal operating systems and external relationships. * Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. Bachelors or Masters degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering) or related scientific degree. Good command of the English language and fluency in Chinese.
