The purpose of this position is to provide manufacturing expertise and guidance on development and manufacture of Ford Chassis in-house designed steering components.

Important aspects of the position.

• Strong understanding of industry best practice in component assembly, which should include experience in failure mode avoidance.
• Ability to deliver zero defect assembly process, while maintaining high process FTT/OEE.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse global team environment, and provide effective technical communication with team members in both Chinese and English language.
• Working functional knowledge of SPC and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Data driven approach to analytical problem solving, and process robustness.

· Dictate manufacturing processes that support efficient, high quality assembly. Including traceability, interlocks to ensure no missed/skipped operations, redundancy of key equipment/processes and escape point control.

· Collaborate with component supplier manufacturing engineering to implement processes for manufacture of Ford designed recirculating ball steering gear component assemblies.

· Experience working with assembly line equipment suppliers.

· Identify and resolve issues during the manufacturing line design phase, to achieve acceptable quality, safety, cost, and line rate.

· Support tooling design and development.

· Support gauging design and development.

· Lead APQP, PFMEA, Control plan, operator work instructions, PM plans and spare parts management.

· Use lessons learned to drive continuous improvement

· Run off equipment at suppliers to demonstrate line capability, gage R&R, and robustness.
