General Description:

This position will provide supplier quality engineering support to ensure the business receives products and services that meet quality and technical requirements while supporting timely delivery of such products at the lowest possible cost. Evaluate capabilities of potential suppliers, solving technical and quality problems, participating in technical design reviews, identifying/implementing cost reductions and quality improvements, and developing corrective/preventive action plans (including root cause analysis). Work closely with procurement, product development and manufacturing functions to facilitate appropriate sourcing strategies can support product development life cycle needs. This position will also be responsible for auditing and monitoring internal Kemflo processes and operations to ensure compliant parts and assemblies are supplier to final assembly operations.


Scope & Responsibilities:

1.Identify, develop and continuously monitor sources of supply to ensure products meet quality and technical requirements by understanding and evaluating supplier quality systems, developing process management plans, conducting process management audits, establishing performance metrics and regularly evaluating supplier performance.

2.Provide technical support to new product development programs and continuation engineering efforts to ensure selection of suppliers with appropriate capabilities can support the needs of the business throughout the product development cycle.

3.Support the corrective/preventive action system through the timely disposition of nonconforming materials, generation and management of supplier corrective action documentation, participation in the problem communication process (including timely closure of assigned actions).

4.Participate in the change management process to ensure that controlled documentation is coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely implementation to support cut-in plans and needs.

5.Develop inspection plans to monitor the quality of incoming materials as well as parts/assemblies produced within Kemflo.

6.Manage qualification process for alternate components, processes and materials.

Specific Duties:

1.Participate in design review activities to facilitate appropriate selection of materials, processes and tools that are compatible with supplier capabilities.

2.Facilitate manufacturability improvements

3.Conduct and analyze supplier process capability studies.

4.Review control plans and recommend changes/improvements where needed.

5.Initiate and coordinate engineering change orders to maintain current engineering documentation.

6.Monitor supplier and internal Kemflo manufacturing methods and procedures.

7.Develop, coordinate and provide training on transferred manufacturing processes and methods as necessary.

8.Work with design and/or the manufacturing location to resolve issues that arise during the implementation of product or process transitions.

9.Monitor and verify the manufacturers' ability to produce quality products that meet quality standards and product specifications.

10.Assess tooling adequacy, Preventative Maintenance Programs (PM), and drive/recommend necessary repairs/upgrades.

11.Participate in new product and the product development processes, as appropriate.

12.Assist in the development of PFMEA's.

13.Promote the use of Poka Yoke mechanisms at Suppliers.

14.Conduct routine quality system compliance audits.

15.Monitor quality management metrics and drive corrective actions where indicated.

16.Support new product development activities.

17.Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned, in an effective manner.


Qualifications:

1.BS from an accredited college or university in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.

2.Five (5) years supporting new product development.and sustaining engineering activities related products that require metal fabrication/finishing, plastic injection molding, tooling manufacturing/maintentance and finished goods assembly.

3.Minimum of five (5) years quality management experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

4.Three (3) years experience completing and managing projects with minimal oversight and against aggressive timelines.

5.Ability to cooperatively interact and communicate well with inter-departmental personnel

6.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal managerial oversight.

7.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

8.Formal certification or training in TS16949 requirement

9.Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired

10.Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred

11.Written and Oral Skills: English and Mandarin mandatory.

12.Moderate to advanced level with PC applications: Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook; PowerPoint, Access and MS Project


Physical Requirements:

1.Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for periods of time.
2.Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
3.Able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
4.Must have corrected vision to 20/30.
5.Must be able to distinguish colors and tints.
6.Must be able to travel via commercial carrier.
7.Must be able to work weekends as required.
8.Must be able to travel domestically and/or internationally via commercial carrier.
