Job description:

Manage and facilitate the translation phase of English-Chinese localization projects. Provide direction, expertise, and hands-on support to relevant teams responsible for certifying the level of quality.

1. Perform any translation or review task with expected quality.
2. Perform language evaluation of the project, noting such points as adequacy of the style guide and glossary, linguistic and technical difficulty, style of language and file formats.
3. Read and study client's instructions and Lockit and prepare project-specific translation guidelines, and maintain and communicate the guidelines in the course of the project.
4. Maintain project glossary and communicate updated glossary to the project team.
5. Read, track and summarize client review feedback and update the guidelines and glossaries accordingly.
6. Collect and answer language-specific queries from translators.
7. Monitor the quality of the project and perform Language Quality Inspection process, inform the project team on any quality problems.
8. Communicate constantly with external resources as well as client reviewers, if necessary on any language-related issues.

Requirements:

1. With bachelor's degree or above
2. Excellent linguistic skills in the target language
3. Superior English understanding ability
4. Sensitivity to styles and other linguistic factors
5. Willing to investigate and think over to understand the source as accurately as possible
6. Knowledge of the basic techniques used in translation, including addition, deletion, merging, splitting and re-ordering at word, phrase and sentence levels where applicable
7. Attention to details
8. Ability to work under pressure
9. Knowledge of the basic PC hardware, software, and PC peripherals; basic knowledge of network technology and hardware, Internet and Intranet
10. Localization experience or in a similar role, with good knowledge of localization tools like Trados, TWS, Helium, LocStudio etc. is a plus. 举报 分享
