Job title: Production Supervisor

Direct report to: Production Manager

Location: Wuxi

Job description:

1.Effectively working with the product group team and support teams to ensure material availability, process capability and efficient labour utilisation.

2.Work together with the product group team and operations development team to promote, standardise and utilise lean manufacturing tools, principles processes through effective employee engagement.

3.Ensure standardised visual management systems are implemented, updated and communicated on a daily basis to ensure employee engagement.

4.Ensure all reporting and auditing requirements are meet by contributing to the certification and training of TS16949.

5.Actively participate in daily shift reviews to ensure supplier (internal/external), quality, production and people issues are addressed in a timely manner.

6.In conjunction with the Production Manager, develop and communicate clear goals and objectives for all direct reports.

7.Establish and build team capability, through cross functional teams, ensure Team Leaders train, assess, update and maintain team member skills matrix.

8.Ensure Team Leaders effectively monitor employee’s performance, attendance and general wellbeing. Actively participate in the counselling and/or disciplinary process.

9.Ensure a cost effective assembly and manufacturing process.

10.Provide input into the product group cost reduction improvement plan to achieve cost saving targets. Drive cost improvements activities across the product group.

11.Drive safety awareness via team and ensure safety, rules, procedures and process are adhered to at all times. Ensure adequate induction and training of all employees and compliance to OHS&E systems and processes.

12.Actively participate in the formal risk assessment process and investigation of all incident/hazard raised.

13.Ensure all safety actions/hazard are closed out on time and effectively communicated across the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor or above degree in Manufacturing Management or Engineering or related technical discipline

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role within a JIT environment

Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering role at least 5 years

Experience in managing employees within a manufacturing environment over 3-years

Application of Lean Manufacturing principles

Proven customer service orientation

Project Management experience on small to medium projects

Skills & Knowledge

Intermediate skills in MS Office

Effective communication skills

Knowledge of OHSW&E standards and processes

Knowledge of workers compensation management and rehabilitation

Understanding of automotive lean manufacturing systems and principles (i.e. TS16949, APQP, 5S, TPS)
