Director of Retail Store
Deliver Financial Results, Business Assessment, and Planning
Accountable to deliver the overall revenue and service targets for all owned Retail Stores. Monitor and take steps to optimize performance metrics and KPI's related to sales, revenue, wages, SG&A, shrink and margin. Work closely with Store Management to establish weekly, monthly and annual performance goals that tie to the overall store sales plan and coach for results. Assess the business and develop merchandising/ product flow plans that support corporate retail initiatives and merchandising standard practices to maximize sales.
Assist with new store performance evaluations, Pre-tax, ROIC, Etc. Pitch for approvals both internally and to APHQ/WHQ.
Operational Excellence
Provide a culture in the store that brings the brand to life at Retail. Develop best-in-class service strategies that reinforce a customer-focused culture and drive revenue.
Provide leadership to owned Operations through development and execution of all Retail operating best practices, standards, systems, policies and procedures. Lead Store Operations in driving consistency of policy and practice across retail. Keep up to date on retail trends and best practices and establish processes for continual feedback and process improvement.
Lead team to ensure consistent execution of Retail Merchandise/Visual Presentation Initiatives. Ensure the execution of visual presentation and standards including markdown execution/transfer of product. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with, Visual, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising and support store plans/goals.
Utilize recognition, rewards, and incentives as a consistent approach to motivate and inspire the team. Ensure appropriate staffing and training to achieve customer focus goals.
Leadership & HRP: People Development
Hire, lead, coach, and develop owned retail team.
Develop and improve the team's retail acumen through proper training and guidance.
Provide a positive and educational environment for employees.
Seek opportunities to bring store employees to office roles and vice-versa
Manage through CFE process including coaching and counseling.
Set department and individual goals
Provide forum for conflict resolution
Manage with courage.
Communication & Reporting
Provide the leadership, influence and processes to establish clear, concise, timely and accurate information flow between key departments and the field organization. Establish the Store Ops department as the "gatekeeper" of any/all information to the stores. Develop communication systems and tools to establish effective communication to the field and internal. Proactively seek out information and resolve conflict/confusion related to communication content and prioritization. Active involvement in store training and crisis management communication processes. Network internally and externally to Retail for key business partners to drive success of the Operations strategy.
