Cost Accountant Ningbo Plant

Our division, "Household products", is active in more than 25 countries and produces and commercializes mechanical house holding cleaning products such as scourers, window cleaners, sponge cloths, brooms, buckets, mops under the brand Vileda and Swash.


VILEDA is worldwide market leader of mechanical cleaning products. The brand stands for easy cleaning and making the daily work of its consumers more efficient. Swash, our main brand in Asia, stands Smart & Strong product for a healthy home.


The Cost Accountant will be located in Ningbo (China), and is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The cost accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. He/she will be reporting to the plant controller.
Function description :


Specific tasks include, but are not limited to :


Data Collection
Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems
Prepare product quotations
Assist in monthly forecasting and yearly planning activities
Inventory
Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
Update standard costs
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
Work with the management board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
Analysis
Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories
Report on margins by product and customer
Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
Analyze capital budgeting requests


Profile :


· University graduate with "accounting professional" qualification
· Familiar with PRC laws and regulations, accounting system
· Familiar with Standard & actual costing systems
· Min 5 years of proven track record in a similar position of which 3 years in a production environment
· Very good spoken and written English
· Strong analytical skills
· Good communicator
· Strict priority setting ability
· Team-work minded
· Initiative taker, proactive thinker
· Reliable, trustworthy and able to cope with high pressure
· Knowledge of ERP, SAP and/or Ufida experience would be an asset
Excellent command of EXCELL spread sheets and use of pivot tables
