PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Sourcing Relationships….
- Develops and maintains effective and continuous relationships with sources to assure material availability (supporting market lead time), competitive pricing and timely, communication as required for Production, Product Development, Product Line Management, and Customer Service.
2.Customer Focused….
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Interacts first-hand with customers and uses information for improvements in products and services.
- Focuses on “service” aspect and responds with customers in mind to establish and maintains effective relationships.
3. Adheres to Belden Values….the highest professional and ethical standards.
4. Learn Belden’s best practices in Sourcing and implement in the APAC region. Prepare region action plans along with the Global Sourcing and Product Management teams.
5. Understand the technical requirements of the products to be localized in the APAC region. Identify best available sources for localization, evaluate the capabilities and execute the localization plan.
6. Identify cost reduction negotiation opportunities with existing suppliers, actively negotiate and achieve the targeted cost savings. Develop, implement and manage purchasing / consignment agreements with suppliers.
7. Close coordination with Product Development / Product Engineering supporting NPI (new product introduction).
8. Ensure Supplier compliance to Belden policies and practices.
9. Conduct periodic supplier audits along with quality engineer to ensure the process and product quality is maintained.
10. Work with order fulfillment team to streamline the purchasing process to improve supplier’s performance on OTD, quality and responsiveness.
11. Develop, monitor and maintain active cost savings / avoidance programs.
12. Prepare and present progress updates to the management team at identified intervals.
13. Negotiates skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups. Skillful in winning concessions in the best interest of Belden without damaging relationships by being both diplomatic and forceful.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years sourcing management experience and a proven track record of cost reduction and localization achievement.
- Sourcing / contract negotiation experience.
- Awareness of current economic and business conditions in various commodity markets.
- Experience working in a multi-national company.
- NPD project management experience
- Experience working in an Enterprise Connectivity Solutions company (Copper & Fiber products preferred).
- Experience working with supplier base in China & other regions in APAC.
- Strong communication skills. Verbal & written English skills are required.
- The ability to work cross functionally & with global teams.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office) and capability to learn other related programs.
- Functional / technical knowledge and ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented work environment.
