1. Coordinating and defining technical requirements together with the customer in the form of specified project descriptions in agreement with the superior
2. Agreeing targets connected with quality, costs and timing with the superior using existing processes and methods in agreement with those responsible or superior
3. Planning of internal and external capacities, defining work packages and planning project phases using the documented basic workflows prescribed for the product development process
4. Involvement in the selection of project team members, taken into account individual experience, potential and competence
5. Coordinating and monitoring development tasks, taking prescribed methods and systems into account; involvement of internal and external service providers if necessary, taking economic, qualitative and scheduling points of view into account
6. Mapping project status taking continual processing and interpretation of internal and external information
7. Ensuring systematic relations to internal and external project sponsors as well as to the specialist departments/posts to be involved
8. Carrying out project controlling in the form of reviews (concluding and interim reports) with project sponsors
9. Involvement in or carrying out of specified escalation scenarios if deviations from targets occur; indicating alternative solutions in agreement with participating development, sales, production and service units
10. Involvement in make or buy decisions within the context of the development project (e.g. for production and testing equipment), in cooperation with Project Purchasing / the project team and after consultation with superiors; benefiting from suppliers' know-how within the context of prescribed standards
11. Ensuring that defined technical standards are being observed within the context of development; involving Preliminary Development and Production Technology in the agreement of product concepts and technological alternatives
12. Carrying out other tasks related to this position
(including examining and evaluating suggestions for improvement, as well as complying with industrial safety and environmental protection measures pertaining to the scope of duties)
