At this highly technical position, the candidate is responsible for developing customer applications of our company's products throughout market research, customer visits, product definition and design, customer demos, by working closely with customers and internal team members.

Working with our business team members, qualified candidate is expected to offer specific technical recommendations and perform detailed engineering work in terms of customer applications based on the company's products. Aligning with the company's business activities, the successful candidate will interface with potential and existing customers to facilitate new product development and improvement of existing products. Internally, he or she will most likely involve with product design team and process engineering team, in addition to business team. Daily duties include the following:

Visit customers along with sales and marketing team

Perform or facilitate customer demos, which require hands-on technical skills

Contribute to product design reviews and drafting product specifications or product manuals

Conduct technical and market research and report on customer applications

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with customers and with internal team members. In addition to comprehension of technical details, he or she must be able to understand business implications of the technical subjects.

Domestic and international travels are required with this position.

Ph.D. (or MS with exceptional qualities) in Physics, Materials Science, EE or related disciplines

Detail oriented with at least 2 ~ 5 years of working experience, and in-depth and extensive device or process knowledge related to semiconductor devices, solar PV (thin film modules and wafer-based cells), TFT LCD, AMOLED, as well medical devices. Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with customers on highly technical subjects exercising sound business judgment, and to work effectively with internal team members. Ability to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary to develop advanced applications for customers. Strong computer software skills.

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Working knowledge of vacuum technology and related equipment and systems

Thin film processes or applications for semiconductor, display and solar PV devices

Comprehensive knowledge of materials characterization and hands-on experience to use thin film analyzing instruments, such as SEM, four-point probes, optical measurements, etc.

In-depth device knowledge of solar cells, semiconductors, TFT LCD displays, OLED displays

Other applications of thin film or nano-materials technology, such as medical devices, MEMS

Field experience working with customers

Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to make appropriate presentations and professional recommendations to customers and internal team member who are with or without technical background. Effective organizational skills.
