The candidate is responsible for engineering support throughout development, installation, testing and maintenance of process equipment, both in-house and at customer's sites. Within mechanical engineering field, qualified candidate is expected to offer technical and professional know-how, and perform detailed engineering work with minimum supervision. The candidate is also responsible for reporting spare parts requested by customers, as well as managing issues with suppliers.

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with team members in related multi-disciplines (electrical, mechanical, software, process engineering, and industrial designs) and with customers to identify engineering issues, prioritize tasks, follow through and resolve issues.

Domestic and international travels are required with this position.

-BS (MS preferred) degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines is required

-4+ years' experience in process equipment design
-Experience using SolidWorks or other similar CAD software to design parts and systems
-Knowledge of OEM component vendors for various parts
-Previous knowledge of working with manufacturing shops to bring parts from models to actual parts
-Experience managing BOM (bill of materials) for build process in Excel
-Hands-on experience with tool build and trouble shooting

-Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Vacuum thin film deposition equipment

Roll-to-roll substrate handling mechanisms

Heating and heat transfer in vacuum

Good oral and written communication skills. Effective organizational and supervisory skills. Ability to make appropriate presentations and professional recommendations in the area of responsibility to management and customers. Field experience with maintenance personnel to provide training and assist in troubleshooting of equipment.
