Job Description
Champion occupational health, safety and environment within his/her business
Provide EHS advice and guidance to his/her Site manager so as to ensure compliance with Group EHS policy.
Establish and maintaining systems to support the site conformance with the Group EHS procedures and local legislation.
Monitor compliance with agreed site EHS policies and procedures.
Ensure that an EHS training program is in place to cover the significant risks on the site.
Prohibit any activity from continuing that he/she considers is an imminent danger or a significant breach of EHS legislation.
Ensure that all areas of the site are inspected on a regular basis.
Identify and effectively manage the main risks to injury or ill health.
Drive EHS key performance indicators in the factory.
Lead the implementation of OHSAS 14001 requirements and get the certification.
Lead the implementation of OHSAS 18001 requirements and get the certification.
Ensure EHS hazards and aspects are appropriately identified and managed to acceptable levels of risk.
Lead the Safety & Health pillar to drive zero accidents in the factory.
Conduct accident / incident investigation and ensure all incidents are reported and investigated promptly whereby causes are determined with implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Advise project management on impacts of regulatory issues and provide in-depth, specialized technical guidance for response to these health, safety and environmental issues;
Perform fire protection and loss prevention analysis for all processes, and participate in corresponding audits;
Manage the security aspects of the site, implementing appropriate procedures and solutions to guarantee full compliance and minimal risks.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelors of Science Degree in Environmental and /or Safety Engineering or closely related field is desired;
5+ years of proven progressive experience in an HSE role in a manufacturing environment;
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is required.
Experience to manage security aspects in the site.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal health, safety & environmental regulations.
Demonstrated proficiency in Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving.
Must be proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Good command of English in both Verbal & Written communication.
