工作职责:
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
1. The purpose of the role of Technical Leader is to ensure that all laboratory staff in all facilities- Shanghai, Huizhou and Sydney are evaluated, trained and monitored in order to maintain high levels of accuracy in testing and reporting
2. To create new and evaluate existing working instructions to ensure the protocols lead to an accurate and cost effective result
3. To keep abreast of industry movement and keep staff and clients informed
4. To evaluate opportunities for new tests to be added to the list of service Qualspec can provide
5. To implement new tests
6. To research new standards and new equipment to be purchased
7. To initiate methods for providing advice and solution services to our customers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. STAFF
1.1 Assist Lab Manager with Selection of new lab staff
1.2 Ongoing training and evaluation of technical skills of staff
1.3 To provide feedback on staff technical skills and improvement to assist with performance reviews
2. LABORATORY MAINTENANCE
2.1 Ensure equipment calibration is completed on schedule
2.2 Report when equipment requires maintenance or replacement and research costs
3. TEST RESULT ACCURACY
3.1 Maintain a regular cross correlation program between Qualspec labs and our competitors to ensure continued accuracy of reporting results across our product offer
3.2 Regular viewing of staff to ensure that protocols/working instructions are being followed as devised
3.3 Updating of protocols/working instructions to improve performance
3.4 Devise a way to monitor performance in terms of accuracy
4. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
4.1 Ongoing research to ensure laboratories are working to the most updated information
4.2 Research of appropriate equipment to be able to conduct new tests to be introduced to the service offer
4.3 Regular research on industry issues, problems and opportunities to be shared with all Qualspec staff and customers where appropriate.
5. CUSTOMER SERVICE
5.1 Devise a system to monitor failed results where Qualspec could possibly provide an advisory service to clients
5.2 Handle queries from customers requesting advice and solutions to problems
5.3 Work with clients to devise working instructions to suit their needs
6. COSTING
6.1 Continually look for ways to improve efficiencies and profits
6.2 Assist with research for new acquisitions such as equipment, standards, new facilities
7. MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS
7.1 Build good working relationships and regularly communicate with key customers
7.2 Maintain regular communication with outsourcing partners
7.3 Keep in contact with key suppliers of equipment, training, industry bodies that can provide constructive information that could be shared with collegues, management and customers
8. ACCREDITATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS
8.1 Ensure that labs comply with any accreditations, certifications and ISO standards in place
8.2 Make recommendations with regard to upgrading our level of industry certification to meet customer requirements, bring in new customers, be able to offer more testing services

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
? The Technical Leader should have strong textile testing skills with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
? Analysis and problem solving skills are crucial to be able to service our customers professionally.
? Previous experience in training teams of technicians will be important.
? He/she must have sound understanding of Laboratory Procedures, Management systems, Accreditations, Certifications and Standards.
? He/she must have excellent organisational skills and show integrity, diligence and efficiency when liaising with customers, staff, management, business partners and suppliers
? Good command of Chinese and English verbal and written a must.
? Strong understanding of chemical testing and in particular fibre content for fabrics of multiple and natural fibre content a must
