Primary Responsibilities:
1, Has the chemical expertise of our material. This covers the material application, manufacturing, as well as raw materials. Understand competition material either.
2, Develop new material, starting from detecting customer potential application, then
cover all the process from formulation development to commercial use, this for
existing range of application as sealing, structural reinforcement, adhesive, as well as
new area, by developing and industrially implementing innovative formulations using
different base polymers and additive ingredients sets.
3, Clarify material characteristics requirements and specifications, translate technical
objectives in lab program, organize the characterization of materials under
development, coordinate the industrial implementation on existing or new industrial
equipment and the problem-solving during start-up, create technical data sheets and
MSDS.
4, For the commercialization process, insure efficient interactions between R&D,
Quality, Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales and Purchasing.
5, Get new material approval at OEM and provide technical support.
6, Be a proactive actor in L&L material strategy definition by proposing new
developments for unmet customer needs.
7, Working with purchasing; a proactive actor in L&L raw material strategy, making
sure our raw material sources are secured, are at the right quality and best cost.
8, Ensure good exchanges and cooperation with other R&D departments in the group;
in case of worldwide leadership on projects, coordinate the fulfilling specification
assessment, industrialization on compounding and transformation process validations
and application validations on a global scale.
9, Propose and prepare patents for innovations.
Qualifications:
1, University degree in Chemistry of Chemical Engineering, specialized in Polymers
and/or Material science.
2, Minimum 6 years in the plastic industry with specialization in epoxy/or
rubber/elastomer.
3, Chemistry knowledge of Elastomers, Thermoplastics and epoxy including their
formulations.
4, Autonomy in material development and industrialization.
