Job purpose
A.Fabric Mill & Wet processor Conformance
? To manage the approval and renewal of fabric Factory audit across the Asia Pacific Region
? Ensure all approved ECP factories meet IPE screening criteria
? To Document Factory Visits and maintain sharing system – accessible by M&S techs among Sourcing Office
? Follow the established procedure with supply base audit that is accepted and understood
? Support the establishment of Mill visit Tracker and update the status of visiting in document
? Set up of chemical i***entory database with the visited mill in compiling MRSL and positive list aligning ZDHC
? Mill improvement plans and trackers, with progress and rejected mills list
? I***estigations on root solutions / precautions for hazardous chemicals eliminations in production as well as APEO /NPEO.

B.Brand Protection Support- Collaborations with NGO(IPE and Greenpeace) with mill audit
? Mill visit with implementing the most update IPE CITI (Cooperate Information Transfer Index) Criteria
? Support in depth follow up and i***estigate e***ironmental issue at problem suppliers in China with mill visiting
? Support the team to push required supplier e***ironmental compliance at all tiers during mill audit
? Follow up the push of Direct Suppliers with compliance issues to carry out corrective actions and provide statements and documentation explaining their violations.
? Assist the push of direct suppliers to establish a screening mechanism for their upstream suppliers, identified violation issues and provide explanations during mill visits
? Push water intensive suppliers to disclose monitoring data of their waste water before discharge to centralised waste water treatment system during mill audit
? Follow up mills with Detox Testing during audit aligned with ZDHC

C.M&S Plan A Support
? Promote mills to apply certificates for growing Plan A attributes as well as BCI cotton, LCMP and Oeko Tex Step during mill audit
? Work with mills on SAC- Higg 3.0 which helps to align with industry on audit collaborations
? Support the team in collecting new idea on good practise in industry for UK Star Chamber to gain new attributes. Through endorsement and recognition of industry leading standards accreditation and certification
? Assist the team to align with UK counter part and Identify suitable mills for ECO DYEHOUSE scheme, contribute to Plan A Attributes
? Support M&S to acheive target of Zero discharge of chemicals from M&S manufacturers by 2020, as well as in placing MRSL and other chemical policy in M&S

Key accountabilities and measures

? Assist to all activities relating to mill conformance (ECP and IPE)
? Support the cooperation with R.O Techs to deliver Tier 2 fabric sourcing strategy
? Promote transparency of Tier 2 e***ironmental impact and upstream tiers

As a Fabric Compliance Technologist, you will be responsible for:

? Factory sign off for E***ironmental Chemical Policy and Criteria with NGO as well as IPE and Greenpeace for Far East Region

? Manage ECP and Chemical Compliance due diligence audits in M&S supply base

? Induction and system training for new fabric and wet processing mills

? Collaborate with Garment/ Product/ Fabric technologists and merchandising team in SOs in managing production to achieve to M&S requirements

? Support fabric Techs across SOs to conduct Pre-production meeting, pilot run and inline reviews

? Supply Base Management with chemical management as well as MRSL and RSL and implementation of positive list during mill audits

? Upgrade Fabric mills quality with improvement plans –in order to support the reduction of fabric reprocessing, bulk and customer RTM caused by fabric defects– monitor progress on improvements & data base mainte***ce

Job Requirements:
? Technical qualification in textile background, preferably to a degree level

? At least 2 years’ working experience in a related field for the UK / European market, preferably in all categories

? Experience in factory would be an advantage

? Knowledge of mill audit and factory setup is preferable

? Familiar with the UK Retail industry and/or European garment buying processes

? Computer Skills – Familiar with MS Office and internet is required

? Excellent communication skills in English are required, and Good level of both written & spoken Putonghua

? An audit qualification (ISO 9000 / SA8000 / ISO 14000) would be a definite advantage
