Job Purpose: | This position is to provide the support and management of Lab analysis techniques relevant covering liquid and solid products, and utility and environment samples.
Serves as a technical management representative for the Lab at the respective responsible location(s), and to provide for lab-related customer service, troubleshooting, problem solving to internal customers. | | | |
Job Dimensions: | 1. No of process units supported by Lab: 9, including LOP, SMPO, Polyols, EOEG, LDPE, HDPE, PP, Utility and Logistics.
2. Work with CM, MF/Plants-Engineers, MFT-Technologists, MFES, MFEM/QMI
3. Direct reports: 2-3 Unit Principle Analysts.
One (1) Central Lab, two (2) CC1/CC2 Plant labs. | | | |
Principal Accountabilities: | 1. Lead, plan and direct the lab operations to meet the agreed requirements in terms of volume of analysis, quality and schedule for the raw materials, process products and final products.
2. Specialize in analytical and chemical support and capabilities to ensure the use of correct test methodologies and/or instruments when needed.
3. Take a lead to form troubleshooting teams to provide guidelines and manage the workload to plant troubleshooting analysis: allocate resources, develop in cooperation with relevant parties / groups to develop new methods
4. Liaises with academic institutions, 3rd party laboratories to source for expertise to provide to internal customers
5. Setting up and updating analytical manuals, work instructions and other relevant lab procedures
6. Ensure analysts acquire the necessary experience and proficiency of testing to pass tests of promotion scheme.
7. Review outstanding non-conformance, conduct trend analysis and initiate preventive actions to prevent re-occurrences of analytical quality problems
8. Assists in maintain laboratory quality system. | | | |
Qualifications: | 1. Educational background: Required background for this position: bachelor (or higher) degree in analytical and organic chemistry.
2. Work experience:
? Possesses a broad experience of analytical chemistry and customer service.
? Typically 5+ years of technical service and chemical laboratory background.
3. Language proficiency: English level CET>4 or equivalent.

CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company (CSPC) Limited has been established as a Chinese Foreign Equity Joint Venture Company on 28 December 2000. It has built and now operates a USD4.1 billion world-scale petrochemicals complex in Daya Bay, Huizhou, Guangdong. It is one of the largest capital investments for a Sino-foreign joint venture project to date in the People’s Republic of China. In 2016 agreement was reached between the partners to expand CSPC more than doubling the production capacity with the addition of a 1.2 Million Ton/Year Ethylene per year creating an additional 4.0 Million Tons/Year of petrochemical products (C2).
The partners are Shell Nanhai B.V., a member of the Royal Dutch Shell, with a 50 per cent stake, and CNOOC Petrochemicals Investment Company Limited (CPIL), also with 50 per cent. CPIL is owned by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) (90%) and Guangdong Guangye Investment Group Company Limited (10%).
The CSPC petrochemicals complex incorporates the world’s most advanced technologies and utilizes modern management systems and international standards in the design, construction and operation of the complex. Its adoption of 13 patents through international bidding ensures it operates on the cutting edge of technology. The majority of its process units are world-scale. Additionally CSPC applies the principles of sustainable development throughout the design, construction and operation of the complex, demonstrating its strong commitment to the community and the environment.
