PayPal Risk customer quality team is looking for a strong leader to build and lead the PayPal Shanghai Risk customer quality team. As the Software Quality Engineering Manager, you will apply your software and management skills to develop and manage the testing strategy within PayPal's Risk team. You will work with a dynamic and hard working team in the delivering quality projects and product. You will work closely with Product Management, Development, Architecture, and Release to develop the best models to achieve high quality of product to support the growth of the business and improve customer experience.

Your responsibilities include:

• Build and lead a strong quality engineering team
• Mentor and coach the team to help them achieve their career goals and career growth, to help them to realize their full potential
• Set organizational strategy, Provide guidance in the execution of projects, ensuring on-time delivery with results that meet or exceed commitments. You will handle escalations and resolve issues when they come up, and work to minimize them through mitigation and contingency planning
• Help define the test planning, test design and execution steps within the cycles of the SDLC
• Identifying process, technology challenges and deficiencies that need to be addressed and drive those changes to successful adoption
• Identifying project risks and be able to provide alternatives for reducing risk
• Work with managers, leads, and senior technical contributors to find innovative ways to test more effectively and efficiently
• Establish and enforce standards which ensure sufficient quality as delivered by Product Development in your area
• Ensure test strategies focus on areas of greatest risk, and identify defects as early as possible in the development lifecycle

4+ years experience in software quality assurance management or engineering management

Passion in technology, quality, and building world-class fraud prevention system

Experience in managing multiple simultaneous large and complex projects in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Fluent in English communication

Strong analytical capability and problem solving skills, Quick learner

Result and detailed oriented

Self-motivated team player with positive attitude who is detailed, thorough, organized, and has a proven ability to prioritize and scope work

Strong communication skills and inter personal skills

Strong computer science background

Ability to inspire, motivate and care for employees while looking out for company viability

Ability to advocate for product quality with employees, peers and managers

Extensive experience with quality engineering techniques and methodology: developing test plans, designing, executing and analyzing test cases, writing and interpreting reports, reporting testing status, creating defect and code coverage metrics, and assessing risk.

Ability to define and institutionalize ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams

Experience with web technology is a strong plus

Experience in a multi-national company is a strong plus

Experience in working with teams in different geo-graphical location is a strong plus
