PRIMARY PURPOSE: Eusure the contracts are in compliance with the law and Molex’s guideline to protect Molex’s interest.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
? Management of Legal Documents for Asia Pacific South Region:
- Review contracts between Molex APS and its customers and suppliers
- Draft contracts pursuant to Molex APS requirements
- Ensure contracts comply with Molex guidelines, and advise changes to comply with guidelines
- Interact with procurement, sales and marketing teams, and various other departments affected by contracts to ensure appropriate input
- Maintain documentation to support APS legal documents
? Assist the direct manager in providing legal support for Molex APS including providing proactive legal advice on risks associated with the performance of contracts
? Provide support to internal investigations and compliance matters
? Perform other related duties as assigned by management
2. Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

SCOPE: ? The position has broad latitude within well-defined boundaries in the context of the contract review aspects of this job. For example, he/she must be able to read and understand contracts provided for review, and then determine whether these contracts are in compliance with guidelines set forth by Molex and related law. To the extent that the contracts do not comply with the Molex guidelines, they will independently determine the changes necessary to the contract to ensure that they comply with the Molex guidelines and related law, and then propose these changes to the other contract party (either a supplier or customer). If the other party does not agree with the proposed changes to the contract, it’s required to escalate the non-compliant term for further decisions by higher ups in Molex.
? The jobholder will also be required to independently negotiate any changes to the contract with the other contract party in an attempt to get the contract in compliance with the Molex guidelines.
? Although this job does not have direct responsibility for revenue metrics, the effect of the work performs is to reduce the potential financial exposure to Molex if Molex not fully comply with the terms of the contract. Therefore, the impact of successful completion of this role is to reduce the cost of sales for Molex.
? The job is responsible for reviewing contracts for the Asia Pacific South (APS) Region, thus it involves supporting all divisions that have contracting activities in the APS Region.
? The tasks performed by the Legal Counsel are somewhat complex, as each situation faced is slightly different from the others, thereby requiring a strong understanding of the subject matter and the ability to adapt existing guidelines and/or procedures to new situations.

EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: ? Law school graduate

WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: ? At least 3 years independent work experience in a law firm or corporate law department
PREFERRED: ? 5 years independent work experience in an international law firm or law department of the global company

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED:
? Understanding of basic legal theory and practice areas
? Knowledge and understanding of contract law
? Extensive experience in grammar editing and composition
? Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
? Good command of English and Mandarin
? Excellent interpersonal skills
