SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER - Hardline (Ref: SH2012-07)

Reporting to Product Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing 'right first time' sample in accordance with Mothercare brief and specification so as to increase sales, margin, profits and market share.

Job Profile:

· Deputize Product Category Manager on the day to day operational activities;

· Manage a small operational team to ensure high standard of performance is provided by all team members;

· Lead, motivate and coach team members to ensure all KPI are achieved;

· Chair weekly critical path meetings and take a leading role to rectify situation when needed;

· Train and develop team members to ensure a strong team is built;

· Developing a relationship with UK designers and buyers to understand customer needs, new directions and development required for product range;

· Work closely with suppliers to understand their capabilities to ensure production plan can be fulfilled;

· Research and develop new factories, products and raw materials and feedback to the Sourcing Manager;

· Work closely with local technical team to ensure Mothercare quality and safety standards are always met;

· Review and revise samples where necessary to meet brief, quality standard, safety standard and costs;

· Ensure sample delivered in line with critical path;

· Monitor sample quantity and ensure sample developments meet target cost whilst maintaining design requirements;

· Sensitive to market trends and information and make regular update to UK team.

Job Requirement:

· Degree holder of mechanical engineering/business management or related discipline;

· At least 8 years relevant experience sourcing experience in Hard goods, preferable Products with pushchair and baby activity goods.

· Able to lead, guide, develop a small team of staff;

· A natural leader, able to motivate, manage, inspire and promote excellence;

· Familiar with production process and business requirements;

· Excellent in interpersonal skill, influencing skill and communication skills is a must;

· Good communication in English and Mandarin and have literacy in Chinese;
