Responsibility:

· Get and maintain OHSAS 18001 certification

· Ensure proper reporting of accidents / incidents

· Investigate all accidents and injuries ( use of 8D tool)

· Write and follow up on safety work orders

· Conduct housekeeping (5S) and safety audits

· Lead safety committee

· Maintain site emergency plan

· Train and certify all forklift operators

· Ensure compliance with all State Regulations

· Ensure compliance with all Hazardous and Solid Waste, Wastewater, Storm-water, Air Permitting/Air Quality, ISO 14001, and training requirements are met in compliance with our Environmental Policies.

· Plant Representative for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, and IQSR HSE chapter (HR 5.02 to HR 5.43).

· Approve new chemicals for plant use, update inventory list as needed.

· Ensure all reporting requirements are met.

· Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.

· Lead deployment of Inergy Safety Management System (scoring and road maps follow up)

· Provide support to other HR functions as necessary

· Pilot risk assessments on all workstations and activities

· Authority and responsibility to stop production when a safety issue arises.

Requirements:

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

· Proficient in computer software

· 4-8 years safety and environmental experience

· Ability to train others – effective communicator

· Must successfully complete all required training

· Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures.

· Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
