Sourcing Project Manager -Guangzhou

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is primarily a sourcing with project management position, which requires he/she can work independently, without direction. This position will be managing various products related to the medical industry. The position will be based in Guangzhou City, and will be managing/mastering various categories with upwards of several hundred sku's. This is a highly visible role. This candidate must be a positive person able to get along well with others, highly organized and able to work under occasional stress and time pressures. This candidate must be energetic, with a strong sourcing background. A task-oriented person as well as a good communicator, able to ably make decisions on how to best accomplish work goals, with little guidance or instruction. You will be joining a rapidly growing company with an extensive presence in China, with competitive salary and benefits.

The main task/responsibilities will be as follows:

1. Negotiate prices & terms with spend approaching 3 million USD.

2. Develop/maintain sourcing activities such as RFQ’s and initial PO’s.

3. Have excellent organizational skills and be very task oriented.

4. Previous experience within the medical field is preferable, but not required. Have a modest understanding of the difference between a good and bad factory.

5. Effective and efficient project management and preferably a basic understanding of QA.

6. Willingness to occasionally work in the evening to communicate with overseas staff.

7. Familiarity with FDA regulation is preferable but not required.

8. Ability to follow up with production schedules, and troubleshoot issues when merited.

SKILLS

1. Proficient in spoken and written English, must be able to present information in English to overseas staff.

2. Above average skills with Microsoft Excel preferred (functions such as V lookup, pivot table).

3. Super negotiation skills.

4. Familiar with FDA regulation useful but not required.

5. History of successful contract & price negotiations at the factory level.

6. Proven effective management of workflow.

7. Ability to manage various projects simultaneously is a very important aspect of this job.

8. Integrity and honesty is a must.

9.Some travel (within Guangdong) required upwards of 20%.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

1. College degree preferred.

2. Have minimum 5 years managing sourcing projects.

3. Familiarity with healthcare/disposable medical products field preferred but not required.
