Job Title: Business Intelligence Analyst/Business Analyst

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is seeking a seasoned professional Business Intelligence Analyst/Business Analyst to help building the most advanced campus IT infrastructure and systems in the world.

The appointee will be required to station and work in the Mainland (initially in Nansha, then on GZ campus when it comes into full operation in July 2022). English is the administration language of HKUST(GZ).

Job Duties:

Successful candidate will cover the following responsibilities (adjust over time to fit project needs):

• Conduct market research and analysis on university related software and systems
• Requirement management: conduct clear requirement analysis and translate user requirements into agile stories for effective IT development for both GZ & HK IT teams
•  Problem-solving: consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions
• Support project manager to prepare presentation/meeting materials, produce meeting minutes/ follow-up in time with good quality
• Facilitate project manager to provide reasonable project timeline to business users, keep frequent communication with clients on status/potential risk, to ensure service delivery to meet the deadline
•  Facilitate GZ business owner to manage UAT test plan: Obtain UAT test cases from relevant business users; Review UAT plan and results; Seek appropriate approvals.
• Write BRD/FRD in a timely manner of high quality
• Conduct data analysis to locate and resolve any possible issues or implement new data operation tasks
• Escalate issues in an effective manner and resolve these in conjunction with rest of team/business stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business related field or Computer Science
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence Analyst/Business Analyst role
• Good command of English, both orally and written
• Proven experience on analytical thinking and independent problem solving skills
• Experience in university or educational application development or business analysis is a big plus
• Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
• Work proactively, cheerful personality, detail orientated, strong communication, stress resistance and learning ability
• Full of passion, self-discipline, sense of responsibility, and good team spirit

This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations. Appointment will initially be made on a 3- year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
