Responsibilities:

--Generate profits by active participation in the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) market.

--Manage some smaller trading situations within assigned limits independently; refer large size or special situation trades to a senior member of staff.

--Begin to develop a network of contacts to facilitate the exchange of market intelligence; these include brokers, customers and counterparts in the interbank market and other financial institutions.

--Keep abreast of economic and financial events, trends etc. read extensively to develop an understanding of market processes, background etc. communicate with the senior trader on relevant market events and trade information.

--The role will involve basic advice, delivery of day-to-day processes and services relating to the local trading books; ensuring the Senior Trader is aware of actions taken. The trader will assist in resolving accounting/processing problems resulting from deals.

--To complete all aspects of job diligently whilst working within the regulatory framework laid down by The Bank of Nova Scotia and the relevant local regulators.

Requirements:

- University graduate or equivalent with in depth and up-to-date knowledge of Numerate, computer literate.

- At least 2 years working experience and knowledge of Foreign Exchange markets; participants, products, practices, trading platforms, regulations.

- Command of spoken & written English communication skill;

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Able to work independently and under pressure;

- High level energy, commitment and a strong sense of teamwork required to succeed in this role.

- Able to accept the Night Shift according to the Foreign Exchange markets;
