Category Manager, Procurement has the responsibility to build and maintain a supplier base, at his or her nominated category area, which serves the needs of Valmet's business in China. The supplier base is also to serve Valmet's target to supply products, components and equipment from China for global deliveries. Category Manager also ensures that Valmet's Global Category work is followed in China. 

Main responsibilities include:

• Cooperate with operational procurement for sourcing need collecting

• Look for Source of supply that fulfill business needed.

• Define right strategy for cost saving, supplier performance improvement and efficiency.

• Participation into supplier evaluation

• Contract management included price fixing, review, implement and maintenance, updating etc. based on responsible category.

• Have awareness of ISO 9001 & ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 quality system.

• Understand products price level, develop cost baseline, to fix into Frame Agreement for high volume products

• Driving cost reduction initiatives, bundling purchase demand for cross projects.

• Promote cost competitiveness solution (DTC, Localization, etc) for business.

• Implement SRM (supplier relationship management) by tools such as Lean, key categories review…)

• Support for sustainable supply chain with activities (sustainability audit, risk measurement, improvement action)

• Engage in procurement, project management and project investment related work of hi-tech product & production

Understands and strictly follows Company’s Rules, Regulations, Policies, Instructions and Procedure to avoid unnecessary conflicts and to reach expected behavior and job performance.

任职要求：

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in procurement. Alternatively minimum 3 years of experience working in procurement, but minimum 5 years of experience working in engineering or quality

• Native speaker of Chinese, with fluent written and spoken English

• Knowledge on pulp mills, paper machines and / or power generation equipment is a plus

• Minimum B. Sc. in Business, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or Process Technology. Additional business studies are a plus

• Ability to persuade and influence suppliers and other stakeholders

• Ability to work both alone and as a part of team (also cross-functional team and multi-national team)

• Ability to do basic project planning and lead a small project team

• Ability to do analytical market research and supplier evaluation

• Ability and willingness to travel and work remotely

• Knowledge on inquiry process and contracts

• Strong negotiating skills

• Experience in working in international company

• MS Excel skills, other MS Office knowledge is a plus
