LOCAL OPERATIONS MANAGER


MORF Dynamics is an advanced virtual worlds and social games developer, with offices in Switzerland, and Australia, developing casual MMO games, 3D virtual worlds, and social media products. Our newly formed Guangzhou office is looking for an exceptional LOCAL OPERATIONS MANAGER to setup, operate and manage our Guangzhou office in China. On offer in this role is your chance to become a vital part of the company, working with our head office to setup, hire, train and manage our new China office and in turn create and develop a truly innovative and awesome product!




Responsibilities:


· Provide strategic leadership, to all functional teams within the local Guangzhou office covering technical, design and general operational functions

· Prepare and implement the operations strategy plan, as part of the overall company strategy plan

· Work with all departments to assess, plan, and fulfil company needs

· Establish practices that lead to excellent talent acquisition and retention

· Create an atmosphere of collaboration within the local office that emphasizes teamwork and professional development

· Establish clear goals, and performance targets for the team while rewarding initiative, discipline, dedication and technical excellence

· Manage the department budget, establishing financial and procurement controls, as well as regularly reporting budget execution status versus plan

· Plan, and implement processes that lead to excellence in services delivery, including but not limited to incident tracking and remediation, change management, service monitoring, alerting and escalation





Requirements:


· 3+ years of experience in management preferably in the games or software development industry

· Must be able to speak Mandarin and English fluently (Cantonese is ideal)

· Bachelor Degree, or equivalent working experience in the field

· In-depth understanding of the current technology landscape (hosting, network, systems, storage, others), as well as industry trends and emerging technology

· Enthusiasm, and ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team

· Outstanding analytical skills, as well as budget planning and management

· Passion for building cohesive teams, taking pride in helping individuals achieve their best, and the business achieve outstanding results




Preferred:

· Previous experience as a hands-on engineer, either in 24x7 high-scale online operations, IT services or 3D/2D graphics and design

· Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, others)

· Strong passion for computer games especially casual social games and virtual worlds

· Previous experience in a game development studio
