JOB DESCRIPTION: SUPPLIER Quality Engineer (SQE)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for coordinating quality improvement plans based on data with Quality Assurance, Engineering (where available) and Sourcing to improve performance and reduce cost. The SQE will communicate frequently and closely with Sourcing (USA), Global Sourcing (Asia), Suppliers, Quality Assurance, Project Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. The Quality Engineer will be accountable for all items noted in the Roles and Responsibility Matrix.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Work closely with Sourcing, Product Engineering, Project Engineering, Quality Assurance and other cross functional team members to define measurable, quantitative process/product characteristics for new and existing products. Work closely with the Quality teams at the manufacturing locations to ensure control plans, measurement plans and mistake-proofing are developed and implemented.

2) Support the process for new product approval documentation (PPAP) for all Garden products; ensure timely feedback is provided to Sourcing and suppliers; lead improvement plans as needed.

3) Support the New Product Launch activity for assigned projects to ensure quality and timing goals are met during development and running changes.

4) Ensure that non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and corrective action activity for supplier quality or customer issues are executed properly by the Quality team in the manufacturing locations. Work with the suppliers on corrective action processing and training to ensure that the root cause is determined and proper preventive actions are implemented.

5) Coordinate the manufacturing process preliminary audit (Rapid Assessment) with the Quality teams in the US and China. Coordinate the execution of improvement plans based on non-conformances and/or opportunities to improve conformance in coordination with Supplier Management prior to full assessments.

6) Work closely with Garden Sourcing to ensure manufacturing process capability goals are established and process improvement plans implemented to ensure continuous improvement with all Garden Suppliers.

7) Support the Quality Director in developing the Quality Management System by writing and implementing quality procedures, work instructions ad test plans. Implementation includes training, coaching and cross-functional team planning to ensure organization wide adoption as required. 举报 分享
