Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement the company's procurement strategy and action plans in China to support THE COMPANY global business strategy and procurement strategies of business groups.
· Set up and monitor performance of yearly procurement objectives, budget, roadmap, and action plans.
· Liaise with directors of relevant business groups to provide services and supports in China for the business needs of their overseas and local operations.
· Establish and enforce China procurement policy, methodology, tools and procedures in supplier selection and management including SQA, supplier audit, and evaluation, and etc.
· Ensure production related materials, components and sub-contracting processes availability with optimum integral costs during business ramp-up for new start-up JV or WFOE operations in China.
· Build a world-class supplier base with long-term strategic partners providing best products in price, quality, and delivery.
· Define opportunities for cost reduction and validate them with business groups.
· Manage logistics, warehouse, tax /import & export duties, customs clearance/handling and work closely with Supply Chain Directors of business groups to minimize missed deliveries.
· Ensure the reporting of designated activities, indexes, supplier parts, PPM and metrics to the management team.
· Develop and retain the procurement team by providing effective leadership, recruiting, coaching, training, performance evaluation and empowerment to team members.
· Keep up with the latest trends of market development and prices.
Qualification & Experiences:
· 5 year relevant management experience in industrial environment
· University degree in Engineering (mechanical and industrial)
· Excellent leadership ability and team player
· Ability to work in a matrixed organization
· Strong written and verbal communications skills in both Chinese (mandarin) and English.
· Commitment to the success of business objectives with highest ethical and legal standards.
· Previous work experience in auto industry highly preferred
· Able to travel in China and occasional overseas to meet business needs
· Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and etc.
· Excellent health and good physical condition.
· MBA degree or equivalent required.
