Intertek is a leader provider of quality and safety solutions for many of the world's leading brands and companies.
Intertek operates about 1,000 laboratories globally and is currently deploying a new Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS) solution based on the ThermoFisher SampleManager package. This system forms the back-bone of Intertek’s LIMS strategy and will be rolled out to a large number of laboratories globally as part of a Strategic programme, with an initial focus on China.

We are looking for an experienced SampleManager LIMS Application System Specialist to work closely with Business users and IT experts to: advise users on how best to use or configure the LIMS to meet the business objectives, formalise those needs, and play a part in the system implementation by configuring the system (where appropriate), test the system, train users.
Thanks to a deep knowledge of the laboratory domain and of the product capabilities, this role is pivotal and essential to ensure a successful deployment of a high-profile technology solution in the business and to ensure the expected benefits are realised. The application system specialist is also an evangelist of the LIMS strategy and will promote best practices from business, process and LIMS standpoints.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables
？ 1.Supports business users in shaping their understanding of their actual requirements
？ 2.Steers the user community to adopt best practices in the laboratory field and as regards the use of the SampleManager product and the way it has been envisioned to be used in Intertek
？ 3.Formalises (documents) user requirements and translate into product requirements; in particular calls out scenarios where product development (extension/customising) is required
？ 4.Work closely with the Product Manager, with Enterprise/Solution Architects and Product Development to ensure the solutions that are advised are in accordance to the company or Product strategies and to ensure the successful implementation of system & process changes
？ 5.Participate to the system configuration by him/herself implementing changes in the product
？ 6.Conduct testing as required
？ Conduct training as required

Experience & Skills
？ 1.Strong experience of the laboratory domain – gained working in a lab or through assignments in implementing process or systems solutions for laboratories
？ 2.Strong experience of ThermoFisher’s SampleManager product
？ 3.Ability to work with other teams in a complex business, process and technological landscape, for instance is able to work with product managers, architects, project managers, business analysis, developers who develop/maintain other products tightly connected to the LIMS
？ 4.Very good oral and written communication skills.
？ 5.Ability to manage at the necessary level of detail and therefore ability and willingness to deep dive when required to achieve the right outcome
？ 6.Experience working a global environment, with users located remotely, and where supporting teams (helpdesk, development teams, peers, manager) might also be on different locations and time-zones
？7. Experience in developing and/or maintaining solutions at Enterprise scale

Location
？ Location independent, European and overseas trips expected (20% max)
