Job Purpose
The Merchandising Manager plans and controls the D:FUSE product portfolio, ensuring the D:FUSE collection fills the needs of the customer segments targeted by D:FUSE. She manages the pricing of D:FUSE products to optimize company profits. By fully understanding customer needs and reacting to changes in demand, she is able to maximise profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices.

Job Responsibilities
? Plan and confirm range of products to sell
o Conceptualize the optimal collection for the target consumer and for the current season, ensuring products are created and ordered to fill needs of future marketing strategies aimed at increasing sales
o Set mark-up rates and selling prices for merchandise
o Create collection targets based on customer demand (e.g. price, quality and availability), market trends, HYPE shop locations, and financial budgets.
o Confirm merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements
? Act as the project manager for each collection
o Liaising with other departments to ensure projects and collections are completed on time
? Evaluate collections in shops (individual SKUs, styles and whole categories) covering design, technical specifications, fit, quality, and price
o Develop a deep understanding of what the best products are that have the highest marketability and will bring profits for the company
o Track the profits and losses properly for individual products and product lines, monitoring the best-selling products in the stores
? Develop and communicate throughout the company a deep market understanding based on real customer insights
o Confer with sales to obtain information about customer needs and preferences to ensure product/collection supply meets demand
o Collect merchandise feedback from customers, incl. through focus groups
o Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, or economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns and determine what the company will sell.
o Research competitors on a weekly basis, including monitoring their sales activities both nationally and regionally.
? Collaborate with, and support other department managers to improve overall efficiency and profitability for the company, including product training materials and participation in promotional activities
? Manage the HYPE Merchandising department through budgeting, hiring, training, development, mentoring and performance evaluations, and oversee their daily activities.
