The Functional Safety Management (FSM) department is structured with the following key roles:
(Functional) Safety Management Officer / Business Line Functional Safety Manager (SMO, or BL FSM)
-Functional Safety Manager inside the Quality department for the BL AL overall responsible for ISO 26262 application on all Automotive Lighting products.
-Manages all resources of the Functional Safety Management (FSM) department
-Grant enforcement of processes for global AL alignment to ISO26262 consistency
-Support MM Corporate Functional Safety Governance on the MM Safety Roadmap
-Coordinate global communication regarding functional safety across AL sites and projects
-Provide technical support to HR in hiring resources for the AL Functional Safety Manage-ment department
-Provide formal approval, together with the legal department, to safety impact analyses to answer to an official Customer RFQ/RFI
-Define a Functional Safety Roadmap for the AL product with specific focus on electronics
-Define a standard tool-chain for functional safety activities across AL sites
？ Product Line/Regional Functional Safety Leader (PL/Reg. FSL)
-Functional Safety Leaders within AL FS department with overall responsibilities of ISO 26262 appli-cation onto his/her Product Line or Region.
-Manage all Project Safety Leaders within his/her Product Line and/or Region,
-Grant enforcement of processes for the Product Line alignment to ISO26262 consistency
-Support MM Corporate Functional Safety Governance on the MM safety roadmap as appli-cable to his/her Product Line
-Coordinate global communication on functional safety across all sites and projects within his/her Product Line
-Provide technical support to HR in hiring Functional Safety resources for his/her Product Line and in agreement with the BL FSM / SMO
-Provide formal approval, together with the legal department, to safety impact analyses to answer an official Customer RFQ/RFI within his/her Product Line
-Work together with the BL FSM/SMO towards defining a roadmap for the achievement of Functional Safety within his/her Product Line and with focus on electronics.
-He/she works together with the BL FSM/SMO towards defining a standard tool-chain for functional safety activities for all AL sites within his/her Product Line
？ Project Safety Leader (PSL)
-Project Safety Leader within AL Functional Safety Management department, responsible to apply ISO 26262 onto AL products
-For all projects within their domain, they are in charge of:
creating the safety plan and integrating it into the general project plan Generating and updating the safety case report, containing safety evidence and argumen-tation
