Group background:
Our client is a wholly foreign-owned multinational market leader in the wood-working machinery and components, who also provides services and spare parts to its customers in various market sectors throughout the world.
We are at present exclusively searching for an Area Manager / Northern China for our client. The objective of this position is to develop sales in the area assigned through the management activity and by strengthening the distribution network.
Key tasks:
- Ensure the “coverage” of the assigned area, in terms of number and potential of customers with direct and indirect assigned resources;
- Find new sales opportunities in addition to those related to already assigned customers;
- Promote actions, through structured proposals, aimed at continuously increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the action of the sales engineers starting from the resources and sales channels assigned;
- Identify opportunities for profitable and sustainable growth of the business in the assigned area both in terms of search for new customers and of introduction of new resources (such as Sales Engineers, Agents, Dealer......);
- Draw up the progress report for the (monthly) results and the relative forecasts requested during the year;
- Control that the assigned resources (direct, indirect) correctly implement the methodology for the consumer coverage, and correctly upload into the system all information defined.
- Carry out, according to a defined process, systematic sales meetings with the assigned resources in order to discuss the results achieved and the actions to be taken for achieving or exceeding the assigned objectives by filling in a draft of the meeting.
Requirements to the Appointee:
- University degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Economics is a plus;
- At least 5 years in the sales of machinery products or components;
- Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles;
- Proactive and good interpersonal skills;
- Chinese mother tongue, English as working language.
