POSITION DESCRIPTION – SIX SIGMA LEAN ENGINEER

This position reports to the Operations Manager

3. OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE OF JOB

The primary purpose of the six sigma lean engineer is to assist with the implementation of RYCO’s integrated management system and to ensure that RYCO products meet internal and external customer specifications and quality system requirements within a highly regulated environment.

4. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

? Facilitate the identification and implementation of production projects
? Participate in NCR investigations, including analysis and preparing reports on quality performance to identify trends and trigger points to ensure timely corrective actions can be implemented
? Assist in programs to improve safety performance, promote safety practices and foster a safety culture and assist with development of safety and plant training programs
? Assist departments in the development of LEAN and continuous improvement
? Develop and maintain detailed process maps, metrics and control plans for key manufacturing processes
? Perform time and motion studies and develop standard work and safe operating procedures
? Schedule, plan and deliver Kaizen (quick continuous improvements) projects as directed by the Continuous Improvement Manager
? Review production line activities and deliver cycle time reduction and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) improvement through Total Productive Maintenance and Lean Management principles
? Facilitate change by developing, communicating and institutionalising LEAN initiatives
? Train, coach and mentor personnel in the use of LEAN Management and continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, set up time reduction, standard work, visual management, total preventative maintenance etc)
? Liaise with Production and Engineering departments to monitor nonconformities and analyse data to identify trends and where resources are best served to achieve continual improvement and assist with LEAN management principles
? Assist engineering with the management of field investigations including follow-up and writing reports as required
? Providing advice and support to Branch quality representatives on daily issues relating to quality
? Ensure a safe working environment by abiding with RYCO’s Occupational Health and Safety policies
? Any other related tasks as directed by the Operations Manager

5. EDUCATIONAL AND / OR TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATES

? Tertiary or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
? 6 Sigma lean management Black Belt.
? Metals trades certificate will be highly regarded

6. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

? Experience implementing 6 Sigma & lean management principles in production environment
? Industrial / mechanical engineering
? Experience working in the hydraulics industry or metal manufacturing
? Outstanding mechanical aptitude

7. TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL SKILLS / ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS

? Computer skills i.e. Microsoft suite of products
? Outstanding verbal and written English skills
? Team orientated
? Ability to multi task
? Ability to manage projects and work with minimal supervision 举报 分享
