JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager China will define, implement, and continuously improve Beats by Dre’s quality systems, standards and policies for Beats’ Asian based (China) manufacturing partners (ODM’s). He/She will be responsible for all quality related matters at our ODM’s and collaborate closely with ODM Managers in China to ensure implementation of plans and processes that minimize quality issues.
This highly visible role will be mainly located in Shenzhen and Suzhou, China, with occasional travel to Beats HQ in Santa Monica, CA. This role would suit a self-motivated, results-oriented individual who is comfortable in a casual, but fast paced environment. He/She must have strong written and verbal communication abilities. This position reports directly to the Operations Director China.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Hands-on position accountable for the development, definition, implementation and continuous improvement of Beats’ quality system, standards and policies.
? Formulate, standardize and implement QA operating procedures including: training, corrective action reports (CAR), engineering changes (ECx), document/part control, ICQ, OCQ, in-process quality controls, QA audits, OBA, DPPM, AFR, DFMEA and quality metrics tracking and daily/weekly analysis of first pass yield reporting.
? Accountable for implementing and audit on effectiveness all Beats HQ designed quality and production strategies to ensure that all product, quality, and yield metrics are met or exceeded.
? Support electrical and mechanical DFx initiatives, working with development and manufacturing teams to maintain product/production quality levels; lead the investigation of product modifications to ensure quality standards are met.
? Establish and ensure compliance for raw material (component), FG quality levels, SOPs, national and international safety standards; lead quality audits and support capability audits at ODMs.
? Point of contact for handoff between production quality and field quality, supporting a closed loop quality process.
? Use Six Sigma processes to analyze quality issues and lead problem solving efforts to determine root case and drive implementation of improvements
? Oversight of the production process and WIP/raw material quality control; making adjustments to the production process as needed to assure the attainment of business objectives while insuring products standards will exceed Beats quality standards.
? Participate in the current ODM’s suppliers qualification process and add to expand the ODM/Beats AVL list, hereby managing a team of SQE’s to enhance the ODM’s supplier quality.
? Participate in new ODM selection from a quality perspective. Assessing potential new ODMs based on industry best practices on quality and production controls including on-site and partner capabilities, manpower and resources.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
? Proven track record in managing production and quality, preferably in the consumer electronics market, working with Asian based manufacturers.
? Knowledge and experience in overseas production / manufacturing processes and techniques, raw materials management, quality control programs, engineering and technology principles and practices. (Preference given to candidates with experience in consumer electronics components, including injection molded parts, tooling and assembly.)
? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, identifying and addressing problems, and meeting deadlines.
? Strong leadership and team management skills and attention to detail in a manufacturing/production environment.
? High level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
? Ability to manage resolution of complex issues with an extended/overseas team in a fast paced development environment.
? Strong business acumen with an ability to drive and make good business decisions that are typically complex and broad in nature.
? Must be fluent (speak, read and write) in English and relevant local languages.
? Experience with Apple Computers/Mac OS a plus.
