A Purchasing Engineer

Job Description

• New Mould quotation request
• Prepare quotation requests for die cast and plastic injection moulds, according to the specifications given by the mould manager
• Send these requests to qualified mould shops, collect and analyse feedback and give recommendation to senior manager in order to appoint the right mould shop
• Existing mould modification
• Analyse which modifications are necessary according to factory engineer’s requests
• Same process as above
• Outsourcing
• Prepare quotation requests for the outsourcing of complete manufacturing projects. Obtain quotations from pool of qualified factories.
• Collect feedback, analyse answers and give recommendation to senior manager
• Follow-up spare-part suppliers (inner parts and packaging)
• Analyse capacity availability of appointed suppliers according to the number of projects given to them
• Report on production status of all outside suppliers
• Rate suppliers based on quality inspections reports

Job Requirements

• Tertiary education
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial environment, preferably handling plastic injection and die-cast moulds
• Understanding of project scheduling and excellent time management
• Able to communicate in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese. Cantonese an advantage.
• Ability at problem solving and multi-tasking
• Excellent personalities, honest, strong personal conduct and willing to work with people of all levels.
