Our client is a US based Toys company

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Product Integrity activity, focusing on product design evaluation and product testing in Asia

• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing quality management systems and code of conduct factory audit activity in China;

• Conducts pre-auditing of factories prior to formal audits by 3P labs to ensure that factories pass formal audits on first try

• Ensure that the current and potential vendors have a Quality System, plus a Code of Conduct and Supply Chain Security programs

• Works with factories for sample drawing and sample submission

• Determine root causes analysis of process and product issues, implement CAPs

• Ensure compliance with all safety standards & regulations during all relevant stages of the company's Development Process (Pitch, Concept, Artwork, Pre-Production, Production testing and auditing)

• Liaise with US Product Integrity Vice President / Director/ Client teams

• Liaise with Certified 3rd party laboratories on all testing activities and ensure protocols are strictly adhered to, and on risk assessment especially for new requirements or Directives

• Align with Asia factory partners and labs to guarantee product integrity while focusing on accurate testing requirements, methods, protocols & testing costs

• Communicate with the manufacturing plants on all quality activities, CAPs, COC, Raw Material testing and vendor partners self-declarations

• Communicate with US to monitor quality activities at the development stage

• Supervise China QE/QC in the monitoring of all quality activities

• Co-develop China QE/QC by training them in regulatory

• Frequent visit to HK & China factories to work with China QC and QE, and occasional travel to other locations internationally as required, to monitor safety & quality activities

• Track factory performance against SII standards

• Submit all testing reports, product safety certificates and other applicable documents timely to the US PI office and upload to network in appropriate program folder

• Apply “seven basic quality tools” (cause-and-effect diagram, control charts, flowcharting, histogram, pareto chart, run chart, scatter diagram) and basic statistical analysis techniques when needed

• Assist Project-HK Manager on training program and handling customer's complaint

Requirements

• Degree in Quality Engineering or mechanical or manufacturing engineering

• 5 years' Hong Kong experience in plastic toys (at least 3 years in premium) industries in a QA/QC position and/or experience working in toy safety testing lab

• 3 years' experience in performing Code of Conduct factory audits (e.g. ICTI) and quality management system factory audit (e.g. ISO 9001)

• 3 years manufacturing experience and working with external safety labs

• Knowledge/expertise of toy safety standards (SII, Client, US and International)

• Must have organization and detail management experience

• Good technical hands-on Quality Engineer & good at problem solving on operational issues

• Teamwork – must be able to work in a team environment

• Must be experienced and have effective communication skills in working with US-based Product Integrity and engineers

• Must be able to speak/read/write English; Mandarin knowledge a plus

• Experience in MS Office/Excel, Outlook, (Expertise in AutoCAD using SolidWorks or similar programs an asset)

• CQA/ CQE or equivalent certification preferred
