Major Responsibilities:
- Familiar with the market attributes and understand Client’s preference.
- Work with merchandising team to source new potential vendors that suite the client’s product needs.
- Supervise and guide a team of Technicians.
- Provide effective supervision of daily operation of technical team and ensure the sample flow in a timely manner. Set goals and organize subordinates to accomplish them on time.
- Develop subordinates to reach a higher potential and recognize their ability and strength. Train technical staff in all furniture production techniques and enhance their quality level.
- Review design packages with Connor merchants and vendors when needed.
- Review samples for construction, specification, quality and safety before they are sent to clients.
- Attend pre-production meetings and make recommendations.
- Educate and update vendors on company policies like technical evaluation and buyer’s individual requirement so as to ensure good working procedures while satisfying customer’s needs.
- Settle disputes between Clients and vendors on Technical issue claims while keeping their good business relationship.
- Identify current problems, foresee pitfalls and advise resolution to subordinates to maintain smooth workflow.
- Coordinate with other departments like Merchandising and Quality Assurance to ensure smooth workflow.
- Complete reasonable ad hoc tasks requested by superiors.
Qualification Requirements:
- At least 10 years’ related working experience in Furniture with 3 years’ experience in a managerial position. Previous exposure in manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
- Familiar with international quality standards and requirements of US & UK clients in Furniture.
- Strong technical knowledge in Furniture products.
- Good command of English and Mandarin.
- Strong communication skills and have the ability to interact with others like vendors, factories, clients and merchandising teams.
