· To issue drawings, work descriptions and calculations that fulfils the requirement in enquiries and specifications. If it isn’t possible to fulfill the requirements, deviations shall be pointed out.

· A prototype cable or a test run shall be recommended for new designs if it is doubtful if the requirements can be fulfilled or to secure that it can be produced.

· If necessary remittance shall be sent to applicable departments for example quality requirements to QA, special test requirements to test and measuring dept.

· Product requirements not requested by customer but necessary due to the application (if known) shall be considered.

· If any requirement is unclear the designer is obligated to contact responsible at sales for clarification against the customer.

· Valid laws and regulations (these who are pointed out in separate instruction for the design process) shall also be taken into consideration.

· The work shall be done within the limitations of Design Guidelines. Designs outside the guidelines, including unknown material or techniques shall be forwarded to Strategic Design.

· Supports as needed design activities for products and processes.

· Supports special test performed in products.

· Support failure analysis in customer applications and definition of corrective actions.

· Supports internal, customer and supplier technical training.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in polymer, cable or closely related science.

· 5 years of experience as a process, technology, product or application engineer or similar, in a cable manufacturing environment.

· Knowledge of applicable analytical and problem solving techniques.

· Knowledge of cable standards and specifications.

· Self-motivated and with ability to function in a team based environment.

· Knowledge of the use and applications of personal computers and software(AutoCAD) to the standard practice of product design.

· Ability to effectively interact with external parties including customer and suppliers.

· High capacity for innovation.

· Good English skills both in written & oral.
