QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related engineering background. 4 -6 years experience in the automotive industry in Design, Manufacturing, Stamping, Machining, and other metal forming technologies.
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills–Proficiency in both spoken and written English,
· Ability to review & create 3D CAD models in Wire Frame, Surfaces & Solids, as well as, 2D detailed engineering prints for manufacturability
· Knowledge of QMS (TS16949, QS-9000, ISO9001 etc), GD&T, QFD, DFM, DFA, DVP&R, VE/VA, DOE, DFMEA/PFMEA, Floor Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Quoting Procedures / Contract Review
· Good knowledge of APQP procedures, Quality Engineering, Supplier Management, Blueprint Reading, Advanced Measuring Techniques, Computer Literate, GPMS
· Ability to prepare and conduct customer presentations on PowerPoint. Ability to discuss and direct technical discussions surrounding Product Design, Casting, Machining, Assembly, Gauging and Program Launches
· Knowledge of metal stamping and metal forming process, metal formed part design, powertrain components and module design including gears, shaft, transmission clutch housing, etc.
· Knowledge and experience on engine crankshaft damper are definitely a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Act as a main technical team member for Magna Powertrain Metal Forming Solution Group’s (MFS) Programs in China – coordinating tasks with the Program Managers, other function groups, and local engineering center.Act as a liaison person for MFS Group Engineering organization in Canada and communicate and support all engineering related tasks.
· Will coordinate, participate in, and direct design and testing process for various products in cooperation with MFS Group Engineering Office in Canada
· Main point of technical point of contact with our customers for the launch of new projects in China.
· Responsible for ensuring that a superior quality product is delivered by the Group to our customers (internal and external) on time and on budget to all aspects of APQP for the Design, Development, Validation, Verification, Testing (and on occasion Production Launch) of powertrain components, modules, and sub-systems for MFS group.
· Assist Program Manager in quoting new jobs and prepares all design / process information for customer presentations and technical reviews.
· Reviews all customers SOW/SOR (Statement of Work/Statement of Requirements) in conjunction with the respective Program Manager to ensure that Stampings Group can meet or exceed the desired objectives on time and on budget.
· Responsible for obtaining Customer Specific Requirements per QS9000 & TS16949, as well as, customer specifications for Design, Development and/or Testing.
· Requests and coordinates all required sub-contract work (i.e. FEAs, DVP&R - Product Validation and Testing, supply of sub-components) and assure timely completion.
· Assists Program Manager with Customer Meetings, with respect to design/launch reviews.
· Responsible for activities related to assigned projects, as per ISO9001 & QS-9000 procedures (i.e. APQP, Design FMEAs, Process FMEAs, DVP&R).
· Maintains proper filing systems to ensure all information are properly stored and easily retrieved in conformance to ISO9001 standards and procedures.
· Undertakes other duties and responsibilities within the engineering function if required by the direct and functional supervisor.
· Initiates plans and ideas for cost reduction and/or quality improvement measures with targets to match program givebacks at a minimum.
· Responsible to ensure the sub-vendors and MFS Group are working with the most up to date and pertinent engineering drawings, databases and parts list.
· Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook and Company policies.
· The domestic travel is to be expected and occasionally international travel is required and may need to stay outside China for certain period of time for training and working. May be required to work “onsite” at customer or supplier locations for different periods of time.
